Hei!

TheChineseRoom søker nå en Technical Artist og en Lead Programmer for et svært spennende spillprosjekt.
Vi starter i Februar en fire måneders fullt finansiert prototype periode hvor vi påfølgende forventer å signere ytterlige 14 måneder.
Vi jobber i CryEngine og har et tett sammarbeid med Crytek. Det er derfor en fordel med tidligere erfaring enten i CryEngine eller relevant software (for eksempel UDK).

Thechineseroom er et prisvinnende studio basert i Brighton, England og har hatt stort suksess med sitt tidligere prosjekt "Dear Esther".
Det kan tilbys kontorplass i Brighton, men det er fullt mulig å jobbe fra eget kontor, slik mange av de som freelancer for TCR gjør. Personlig jobber jeg fra mitt kontor i London og det er fullt mulig å jobbe fra Norge om ønskelig.

Stillingsannonsen for Technical Artist er som følger:

Technical Artist

We are looking for a technical artist to help us deliver a visually stunning game, making full use of everything that the next generation of games hardware will allow.

The ideal candidate will have a creative background but will have excelled in technical issues. They will be the 'go to' person for artists trying to implement cutting edge techniques, and on hand to help programmers understand what the art team requires. They will have a keen interest in the future of videogame graphics and be able to set their own high and ground-breaking expectations.


Requirements:
• Extensive shader development experience
• Lead technical artist on at least one current gen project
• Good technical understanding of next generation modelling and texturing techniques
• Solid knowledge of MaxScript and/or MEL (as well as Max and/or Maya generally)
• Experience with visual FX and particle animation; notably weather systems, vegetation systems and time of day effects
• Advanced knowledge of current and next gen lighting techniques
• Ability to understand the vision of the project and how this role will enable it to be executed
• Proven ability to creatively solve art implementation problems
• Previous experience of middleware (UDK, Unity, CryEngine)
• Great communications skills

Responsibilities:
• To ensure programmers and artist interface efficiently
• Help devise the best possible pipelines and workflow for assets
• Enable the art team to work at the limits of what is technically possible
• Devise solutions that allow the artistic vision to be realised
• Share knowledge with the team and author the appropriate documentation where necessary

Plus Points:
• CryEngine experience
• Experience working with ZBrush
• Any programming experience
• Experience working remotely or with a distributed team
• Competency at game asset production

• A covering letter explaining recent responsibilities and achievements that you think make you suitable for this role
• Link to an online portfolio or showreel demonstration tool generation and implementation, particularly shader, particle and FX work (personal projects/experiments also welcomed); script examples and documentation you've authored (such as tutorials and usage guidelines).

PS: Vi er ute etter en veldig teknisk artist, så erfaring fra VFX kan veie opp for manglende spillerfaring. Det viktigste er forståelse for shadere, tools og pipelines.
