Har allerede postet dette på Unity forumet, men er vel igrunnen modellerings relatert problemstilling, bare kopierer inn her, folk flest kan engelsk
I want to take a area from google maps, with both textures and terrain elevation from Google Earth, and make a race track for a simple driving game.
I found a tutorial wich shows how to extract Google Earth terrain into SketchUp and export as a 3ds model, and then make a heightmap out of it so that you can make use of the Unity terrain tools to add trees and landscape textures easy within Unity, here:
This will give me the terrain, but the road will probably be filled with some holes and uneven surfaces as the google terrain elevation data is pretty low-poly and inaccurate.
What would then be the best solution for making the track?
Maybe import the terrain into 3ds Max and make it all there as a model and import the track model afterwards?
If so, what would be the best way to add the road to the terrain model in 3ds max?
If I just wanted the track without terrain around I could just make a spline with the tracks turns and elevations and extrude a little part of the road along the spline, but how is this done when the terrain is already there?
Alot of text, hope you get the picture
Altså, jeg vil lage en bilbane på et eksisterende tereng i 3d Max, tips om hvordan?
